Best Airport with Under 2-Million Passengers per Year in North America went to Victoria, Canada.
“The Airports Council International Airport Service Quality Award is the highest possible distinction in the industry and we are honoured to be recognized”, said Geoff Dickson, President and CEO of the Victoria Airport Authority.
ASQ is the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark and the improvements made are a direct result of the customer feedback received on the ACI’s passenger satisfaction surveys.
“ Without the efforts of our airport community - security officers, airline partners, restaurant and retail staff, car rental companies, cleaners, volunteers and so many others, this award would not have been possible”, said Dickson.
Customer service is a priority at Victoria International Airport. Whether it’s our commissionaires helping customers jumpstart their vehicles, security screeners assisting customers in need or the airport itself building a 9.3 km biking/walking path around the airport, the customer and community will always be the focus.
The commitment to provide an airport experience with ease, efficiency, vitality, and friendliness continues in 2013 as the airport embarks on an $8.1 million dollar Airport Improvement Program. Improvements over the next year include an upgrade to passenger processing capacity at pre-board security screening, new shopping and dining venues, an addition to the east side of the lower passenger departure lounge with a central elevator, escalator and stairway to improve customer circulation, and a design thematic based on a colour palette inspired by world-renowned Victoria artist Emily Carr.
Victoria International Airport celebrates this achievement with all of its airport community partners and peer ASQ airports.
