CQA adhere to the scientific planning, construction, management and operation in these years. As one of the largest hub airports in Midwest of China, CQA began services in 1990 and currently owns two runways, serving 51 airlines that operate passenger and cargo flights to 132 domestic and overseas destinations. In 2013, CQA had completed 212,000 flights, and its passenger throughput hit record high at 25.2 million, cargo throughput amounted to 280,000 tons. A new expansion project of CQA will be completed and put into operation in 2015, by that time it will own three runways and terminals covering an area of 700,000 square meters, which meet the demand of 45 million passenger traffic and cargo throughput of 1.1 million tons.

Salt Lake City International Airport served 20 million passengers in 2013 which ranks it as the 26th busiest airport in North America and the 64th busiest in the world.
Salt Lake City International Airport is located about 15 minutes from the center of downtown. It is a hub for Delta Air Lines which operates about 74% of the traffic. In total, eight airlines and their affiliates operate over 600 scheduled daily flights serving about 89 cities with non-stop flights. There is international non-stop service to Canada, Mexico, and Paris, France.
A Terminal Redevelopment Program (TRP) is in beginning stages that will reconfigure the entire Airport campus on the next 8-10 years. The long-term project will result in a new terminal building and accompanying facilities.
