2014 marked the 100 year anniversary of commercial aviation. To commemorate this milestone, Malta International Airport set up a baby grand piano in its Departures area. Throughout the year various musicians and singers were invited to perform on the piano and entertain passengers waiting at the gates. Malta International has also had numerous impromptu performances by passengers, some of which were luckily caught on camera. On two occasions the airport even saw a passenger joining in with his saxophone or a choir of voices accompanying the pianist. Malta International Airport notes that it is proud to have witnessed some great talent and brought people together through their love of music and travel whilst at the airport. Passengers can look forward to seeing (and hearing!) more this year as the airport extends its campaign into 2015.
