| Baggage Screening: Operational and Image Analysis Brief: This training programme provides participants with image analysis training for both cargo and airport scanners. It is a unique classroom course that is delivered via the traditional classroom method as well as a computer based training (CBT) simulator. The use of both methods ensures that operators of baggage screening equipment have a full understanding of the operational and safety functions of the equipment. It also ensures that image analysts develop the necessary skills and abilities to analyse images to the highest standard, thereby increasing the chances of detection of prohibited or dangerous items. The CBT simulator is an interactive training course that instructs, coaches and imparts the necessary skills and proficiency to enable candidates to correctly analyse baggage X-ray images. The CBT system records all facets of the candidates’ training sessions, assimilates the information and compiles it into a training report to determine the student’s progress all times throughout the course. This function allows the trainer to monitor each candidate’s progress throughout the training process as well as being the cornerstone of the individual candidate training report, which is issued upon completion of the course. Benefits:
ACI will deliver a full training course covering the correct operational utilisation of the equipment, including health and safety when working with X-rays and radiation protection basics, as well as raising the candidates’ awareness of the recognition of prohibited and dangerous items. The course includes a full review of image analysis techniques and functions in the identification of firearms, explosives, dangerous goods, weapons, narcotics and concealment methods. The training is based upon – and includes – the following modules:
