ACI PaxFlash and FreightFlash for April 2005 - 30/05/2005

Geneva -
In April 2005, passenger traffic rose by a moderate 4% worldwide relative to April 2004, with international passenger traffic rising 5 % and domestic 4%. Freight figures show a second month of growth after the negative results in February, with increases of 4.3% worldwide, 5.4% international and 2% domestic traffic.

"We see that the upward traffic trend continues and freight growth is healthy," says ACI Director General Robert J. Aaronson. "For airports, this sustained growth curve confirms that it is urgent to prepare for future demand, to plan and develop our facilities in preparation for long-term needs."
