Airports Report Strong Passenger Traffic in September - 04/11/2005

ACI airport traffic statistics for September 2005 once again underscore the growth trend in the industry and show that passenger demand remains strong despite high fuel costs and surcharges. Airports worldwide reported a steady 6% passenger traffic increase as compared to September 2004.

ACI Director General Robert J Aaronson will welcome 625 participants, from 58 countries at the ACI annual meeting and conference on 7 November in Auckland. The summit theme of “Airports and Tourism: Partnership for Growth” will focus on the important synergies that exist between airports and the local, national, regional and international economies they serve. Key topics on the agenda include new airport initiatives in the areas of safety, security, environment, health, airline-airport relations and customer service – all major contributors to a healthy tourism industry.
