GENEVA, 28 February 2007 – Airports Council International (ACI) PaxFlash and FreightFlash reports for January traffic indicate that the first month of the year continues the strong international growth trend from the last quarter of 2006, with less buoyant domestic traffic. Passenger demand remained strong in January 2007 with the world airports' reporting a five percent increase compared to January 2006. International passenger traffic rose by six percent while domestic grew by four percent. Total freight handled worldwide in January 2007 rose three percent compared to January 2006, with international freight up four percent and domestic freight remaining flat.
Geneva, 30 January 2007 – A new ACI forecast, which highlights future traffic development from the perspective of the airport industry, predicts a doubling of current passenger numbers within the next 20 years.
