Montreal, 3 May 2016 – The world’s top-performing airports in the realm of customer service met on 19 April for the 2015 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards Ceremony, held in Gold Coast, Australia during the 11th Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference and Exhibition.

Dublin International Aviation Training Academy becomes first ACI Accredited Training Institute - Apr 12, 2016

Montreal, 13 April 2016 – Airports Council International (ACI) is pleased to announce that Dublin International Aviation Training Academy (DIATA) has fulfilled all the requirements to become the first ACI Accredited Training Institute (ATI). The ATI initiative has been designed to build a network of airport training units that offer performance-based, up-to-date courses and other learning activities accredited by ACI that meet international standards for quality in workplace learning.

ACI and Green Light to offer new course on behavioural analysis for passenger screening and insider threat management - Apr 12, 2016

Montreal, 12 April 2016 – Airports Council International (ACI) and Green Light Limited, a London-based security training and consulting company, signed an agreement on 17 March to collaborate on a new behavioural analysis course for passenger screening and insider threat management. The aim of the course is to enhance the effectiveness of airport security programmes through a robust curriculum taught by experts in the field of airport security. 

Stefano Baronci joins ACI World as Director of Economics - Apr 07, 2016

Montreal, 7 April 2016 – ACI World has announced the appointment of Stefano Baronci as Director of Economics and Programme Development. Stefano’s responsibilities include leading airport industry economic policy development; overseeing the collection, dissemination and analysis of airport traffic and economic data; acting as the Secretary of the World Economics Standing Committee; collaborating with ICAO on its Economics Panel and related activities; engaging with multilateral financial and economic development entities; assisting with capacity-building in airport commercial and economic areas; and representing ACI at meetings and conference as a subject matter expert in the areas of economics and statistics.

Montreal, 5 April 2016 – Preparations are in full swing for the 2015 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards Ceremony, to be on 19 April 2016 in Gold Coast, Australia during the 11th Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference and Exhibition. The world’s premier passenger service benchmarking programme for airports, ASQ, delivered over 550,000 in-depth passenger surveys at over 300 airports across more than 80 countries worldwide last year. The 2015 results represent the world’s best in class airports where improving the customer experience is concerned—as appraised by passengers while they are traveling and the experience is fresh in their minds.  

ACI releases preliminary world airport traffic rankings - Apr 04, 2016

Montreal, 4 April 2016 – Based on reports from 1,144 airports worldwide, ACI’s preliminary passenger traffic results for the most-travelled airports in 2015 reveal that the top spot continues to belong to Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL). Growing by 5.5% year over year in passenger traffic to the record-breaking total of over 100 million passengers in 2015, Atlanta has benefitted tremendously from its strategic location as a major connecting hub and port of entry into North America. The airport is within a two-hour flight of 80% of the United States population. 

ACI performs first Airport Excellence in Security pilot review at Mauritius Airport - Apr 01, 2016

Montreal, 1 April 2016  – Airports Council International (ACI) has launched its first Airport Excellence (APEX) in Security pilot security review at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius. ACI is pleased to be working with Mauritius Airport on the project, which will enable the fine tuning of the programme for future security reviews at airports around the world.

Airports Council International signs United for Wildlife Declaration at Buckingham Palace - Mar 15, 2016

Montreal, 15 March 2016 – Airports Council International (ACI), along with over 30 other signatories, today underscored its commitment to combat wildlife trafficking by signing the United for Wildlife Transport Taskforce Buckingham Palace Declaration. The Declaration makes a commitment to support the private sector in fighting and shutting down the illegal wildlife trade.

Robust passenger traffic growth to start the year; air freight volumes inch up with some modest gains - Mar 15, 2016

Montréal, 15 March 2016 – Strong traffic growth at the end of 2015 has continued into January 2016, with overall passenger traffic growing by 6.9% compared to the same month last year. The plunge in global oil prices coincided with a rapid fall in global inflation expectations, in addition to a much slower pace of economic growth in China and the rest of the major emerging markets. Nevertheless, when compared to more mature markets, many emerging market economies performed well, thereby stimulating growth in passenger traffic.
