Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport inducted with distinction into ACI’s Director General’s Roll of Excellence - May 20, 2015

Montréal, 20 May 2015 – Airports Council International (ACI) World is pleased to announce that Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport has been inducted with distinction into the 2015 Director General’s Roll of Excellence. The airport achieved the number one position in the 15–25 million passengers category in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passenger satisfaction survey for five consecutive years. 

Robust growth in air transport demand for first quarter of 2015 - May 11, 2015

Montréal, 11 May 2015 – According to the latest statistics from Airports Council International (ACI) World, global passenger traffic increased by over 6% for the first quarter of 2015 and by 7% for the month of March as compared to the previous year. International passenger traffic grew by 6.8% year-over-year whereas domestic traffic grew by 5.7% for the period from January to March 2015.

Strong February due to seasonal effect of Lunar New Year on passenger traffic as air freight receives a boost due to West Coast sea port crisis - Apr 10, 2015

Montréal, 10 April 2015 – Global passenger traffic increased by over 6% for the month of February, with much of the growth stemming from international travel, which grew by 7.3%. While all regions reported gains in passenger traffic, most of the buoyant activity stemmed from the Asia-Pacific region, with gains of 11.6% in international passenger traffic for the month of February. Many of the busiest airports in the region posted double-digit growth for the month. The seasonal factor of the Lunar New Year taking place in February 2015, as compared with January 2014, is responsible for some of the distortion in year-over-year traffic results. 

ACI World releases preliminary world airport traffic and rankings for 2014 - DXB becomes busiest airport for international passenger traffic - Mar 26, 2015

Based on reports from 1,095 airports worldwide, ACI’s preliminary passenger traffic results for 2014 show that the top four ranked positions with respect to the world’s busiest airports in overall passenger traffic have not changed as compared to 2013. Atlanta (+1.9%) continues to be the world’s busiest airport with over 96 million passengers in 2014. While Beijing (+2.9%) was expected to close the gap, it no longer has double digit-growth as in previous years, placing it in second position. London-Heathrow (+1.4%) remains in third while Tokyo-Haneda (+5.7%) preserves fourth position. However, Los Angeles (+6%) and Dubai (+6.1%) have moved ahead of Chicago-O’Hare (+4.6%), occupying the fifth and sixth rank respectively. 

Solid start to the year for passenger traffic as air freight maintains growth path - Mar 13, 2015

Global passenger traffic started the year strong with year-over-year growth of 4.5% for the month of January. This comes after a rise of over 5% in passenger traffic for 2014 as a whole. All regions reported gains in passenger traffic, with most of the buoyant activity in passenger traffic stemming from double-digit growth rates in the Middle East with gains of 11% in passenger traffic for the month of January.

Montreal, 16 February 2015 – Airports Council International (ACI) is pleased to announce the recipients of the prestigious 2014 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. As the industry’s most comprehensive passenger service benchmarking tool, the ACI ASQ Survey has reliably captured passengers’ immediate appraisal from check-in through departure at the gate at more than 300 airports worldwide. These awards represent passengers’ views on 34 key service indicators and are an objective and accurate indicator of the top worldwide performing airports with regard to passenger service.

Preliminary data reveals global passenger traffic up by over 5% in 2014; air freight volumes rise in tandem after three years of stagnating growth - Feb 11, 2015

Global passenger traffic ended the year strong with year-over-year growth of 5.6% for the month of December. This is in line with the overall growth in passenger numbers over a twelve-month period. The preliminary data points to a growth rate of 5.1% year over year. Both international and domestic traffic posted strong growth rates of 5.8% and 4.5% respectively. 

Antoine Rostworowski joins ACI World as Director of Facilitation and IT - Feb 09, 2015

ACI World has announced the appointment of Antoine Rostworowski as Director of Facilitation and IT. Antoine will be based in ACI World’s Montreal, Canada offices with responsibilities that include the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) customer service benchmarking programme, airport facilitation, IT and public health strategy, policy and best practice development.
