June passenger traffic on par with growth trend - Aug 11, 2014

Montréal, 11 August 2014 – Global passenger traffic continued along the growth path as the number of passengers grew by 4.5% for the month of June. This is on par with the average 12 month growth trend of 4.7%. International travel continued to maintain momentum by contributing to the upward surge in passenger traffic with an increase of 5% in June. Domestic passenger markets moved up by 4.2% for the month.

Passenger and air freight traffic continue on growth path in May - Jul 10, 2014

Montréal, 10 July 2014 – Global passenger traffic grew by 4.7% for the month of May, which is slightly above the trend of 4.5% year over year for the last twelve months. International travel continues to contribute to the overall upward surge in passenger traffic with an increase of 5.9% in international passengers for the month. Domestic passenger markets moved up by 3.7%.

Moderate growth in passenger traffic as air freight continues revival in March - May 09, 2014

Montréal, 09 May 2014 – Global passenger traffic grew modestly by 2.4% for the month of March, which is slightly below the 12-month average of over 4%. International passenger traffic contributed to the slowing growth since the increase in passengers was more subdued at 1.8% for the month. The only region to post strong gains was the Middle East, where growth reached 6.2% year over year. The region as a whole leads all other regions in the first quarter of 2014 in terms of growth, reaching an 8.6% increase in passenger traffic for the first three months. Dubai (DXB) is ranked as the third-busiest airport for the first quarter of 2014 with growth of 11.4% year over year.

Upward surge in passenger traffic continues as air freight maintains momentum in February - Apr 09, 2014

Montréal, 09 April 2014 – Global passenger traffic increased by over 4% for the month of February, with much of the growth stemming from international travel, which grew by 5%. The Middle East continues to maintain high increases in international passenger traffic, achieving robust growth of 8.6% year over year. Dubai (DXB), which is poised to become the busiest airport for international passenger traffic in 2014, experienced growth of over 11% in international traffic for the month of February.

Preliminary World Airport Traffic and Rankings 2013 - High Growth Dubai Moves Up to 7th Busiest Airport - Mar 31, 2014

Montreal, 31 March 2014 – Based on reports from over 1105 airports worldwide, Airports Council International (ACI) preliminary passenger traffic results for 2013 show that the top six ranked positions with respect to the world’s busiest airports remained unchanged as compared to the previous year. Although Atlanta (-1.1%) remains the world’s busiest airport, Beijing (+2.2%) continues to close the gap in second position. London-Heathrow (+3.3%) remains in third while Tokyo-Haneda (+3.2%) preserves fourth position. Chicago-O’Hare (+0.2%) and Los Angeles (+4.7) maintain fifth and sixth ranks respectively.
