Global Passenger Traffic Grows Modestly by 1.8% in April - Jun 07, 2013

Montréal, 7 June 2013 – Passenger traffic at airports increased modestly by +1.8% in April 2013. Airports also reported moderate increases of +2.4% in international passenger traffic and 1.3% in domestic passenger traffic compared to April 2012. Regional disparities persist with markets like the Middle East posting significant year-over-year gains at +10.2% in passenger traffic, while North America and Europe remain almost flat at -0.3% and +0.4% respectively. Many major European airports are feeling the brunt of the economic slowdown. Madrid (MAD), Paris (CDG), Frankfurt (FRA) and London (LHR) all experienced declines in traffic during the month of April. However, other airports such as Dubai (DXB), Istanbul (IST) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL) continue to experience double digit gains.

Global passenger traffic posts strong performance in March with growth of 4.6% - May 10, 2013

MONTRÉAL, 10 May 2013 – The market for international travel remains buoyant for the month of March. The Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific all posted double digit gains in international passenger traffic of +16.4, +14.1 and +10.9 respectively. Although overall passenger traffic grew by +4.6 percent, domestic traffic showed signs of weakness for some regions for the month of March. On an aggregate basis, domestic traffic increased by +2.6 percent. With the ongoing economic slowdown across Europe, domestic passenger traffic saw a decline of -5.9 percent. However, Istanbul (IST) remains unperturbed by the European economy. The airport’s passenger traffic grew by +23.8 percent.

In its 17th edition, the Report provides an invaluable measure of the airport industry’s 2011/2012 financial and economic performance based on an annual data survey of the world’s airports. Subsequent in-depth analysis was provided by ACI’s Economics, Data and Statistics Team.

First International Conference on Airport Economic Regulation to be Organized by ACI - Apr 25, 2013

Global Passenger Traffic Continues to Post Modest Gains at 1.8% Year-Over-Year in February - Apr 10, 2013

MONTRÉAL, 10 April 2013 – Most of the aggregate level growth in passenger traffic for the month of February came from Asian airports. Both Hong Kong (HKG) and Beijing (PEK) reported robust growth rates of +15 and +7.3% respectively.

Preliminary 2012 World Airport Traffic and Rankings - Mar 26, 2013

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC, CANADA, 26 March 2013 – ACI preliminary traffic results, based on reports from over 1093 airports worldwide, indicate that global passenger traffic grew at a rate of 4 percent while cargo and aircraft movements were flat as compared to 2011.
